Chicken Sausage Alfredo

Boil/Cook: 10 minutes • Makes: 4 (1 1/4 cups) servings
2 cups Weis Quality Frozen Broccoli Florets
2 tablespoons Weis Quality Olive Oil
1/2 (12-ounce) package fully cooked Weis by Nature Apple and Gouda Chicken Sausage, sliced crosswise into 1/4-inch-thick pieces
1 garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons Weis Quality Unsalted Butter
1/2 cup Weis Quality Half and Half
1/2 teaspoon Weis Quality Ground Black Pepper
1/3 cup Weis Quality Grated Parmesan Cheese plus additional for serving (optional)
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
1.Prepare linguine as label directs; during last 3 minutes of cooking, stir in broccoli. Drain linguine mixture reserving 2 tablespoons cooking water; return linguine mixture to saucepot and cover.
2.In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook 4 minutes or until browned, stirring frequently; reduce heat to medium-low. Add garlic, butter and reserved cooking water; cook 2 minutes or until butter melts. Gradually stir in half and half and pepper; heat to a boil. Stir in cheese; cook 1 minute or until cheese is melted and sauce is slightly thickened. Add linguine mixture; toss. Makes 5 cups.
3.Serve linguine mixture sprinkled with cheese and basil, if desired.
