“Healthified” Caramelized Onion Dip

Prep: 15 minutes plus chilling • Cook: 32 minutes
Makes: 8 (6 tablespoon) servings

1. Onion
Thinly slice 3 large yellow onions. Heat 1 tablespoon Weis Quality Canola Oil in a large skillet with 2-inch-high sides over medium-high heat; add onions and cook 10 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 20 minutes or until very soft and dark brown, stirring occasionally.

+ 2. Lemon juice
Squeeze 2 tablespoons juice from 1 lemon. Stir lemon juice and 1/4 cup water into skillet with onions; cook 2 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat; cool and chop onions.

+ 3. Yogurt
Add 1½ cups Weis Quality Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt to a medium bowl.

+ 4. Garlic powder
Stir in 1 tablespoon Weis Quality Garlic Powder.

+ 5. Dried Thyme
Stir in 1½ teaspoons McCormick® Thyme Leaves, onions and ½ teaspoon each Weis Quality Salt and Weis Quality Black Pepper; cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or up to 3 days before serving.
