Grilled Cinnamon-Sugar Pears

Prep: 20 minutes plus standing
Grill: 7 minutes • Makes: 4 (1 pear, 1/3 cup ice cream) servings

Header

1-1/2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon Weis Quality Granulated Sugar, divided
1/2 teaspoon Weis Quality Ground Cinnamon
4 Bosc or Anjou pears, halved lengthwise and cored (about 8 ounces each)
1 tablespoon Weis Quality Pure Olive Oil
1/2 cup halved pitted cherries
1/4 cup caramel sauce
1-1/3 cups Weis Quality Vanilla Ice Cream
1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds

1.Prepare outdoor grill for direct grilling over medium-high heat. In small bowl, stir 1-1/2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Brush both sides of pears with oil; sprinkle with sugar mixture. Place pears, cut side down, on hot grill rack; cover and cook 7 minutes or until grill marks appear, turning once.

2.In medium bowl, stir cherries and remaining 1 teaspoon sugar; let stand 5 minutes.

3.In small microwave-safe bowl, heat caramel sauce in microwave oven 15 seconds or until warm. Serve pears topped with ice cream, caramel sauce, almonds and cherries.
